For over 40 years, Metrocrest Social Services has been preventing homelessness by providing emergency assistance and comprehensive programs to move families toward self-sufficiency. MSS’s services include: providing individuals with support for a successful work search in the form of resume assistance and individual job leads, gasoline vouchers and bus passes; and assisting families in successfully managing financially stressful seasons through assistance with rent, utility payments, food, clothing, medical prescriptions, and more. Basden & Ivie, PC has acted as outside general counsel for Metrocrest Social Services since 2010.
Founded in June of 2008, My Possibilities is a non-profit charity for adults with disabilities, including a day program that enables adults with disabilities to realize their greatest possibilities and enjoy meaningful lives. My Possibilities provides vocational, socialization and independent living skills for adults with disabilities. Basden & Ivie, PC has acted as outside general counsel for My Possibilities since 2011.
Heart House’s innovative afterschool program is designed for children in neighborhoods known for high crime and unemployment rates in Dallas. At Heart House, children have access to caring mentors, homework assistance, health and safety education, and literacy programs. Heart House develops the child’s social skills, teaches the child to respect cultural differences, provides activities to reinforce learning at school and fosters the child’s love of learning.
