  • Elizabeth Basden

    Elizabeth Basden is the managing shareholder of the Firm, and represents companies and financial institutions in real estate, secured lending, and commercial law matters.  Elizabeth represents both for-profit and non-profit businesses as outside general and litigation counsel, and routinely assists her clients in avoiding or managing litigation. She also acts as receiver for troubled businesses, and assists international companies in managing their US presence.

    Elizabeth graduated cum laude from Southern Methodist University School of Law, where she served as President of Women Law Students Association and Editor-in-Chief of NAFTA: Law and Business Review of the Americas.  She was a Jackson Walker Moot Court Champion her first year of law school, and was named Best Oral Advocate of the competition.  Elizabeth earned her MA in English with high honors, and her BA with honors in English and History, from Abilene Christian University.  Prior to and during law school, Elizabeth was an instructor of English at Abilene Christian University and Southern Methodist University.  Elizabeth is admitted to the Texas bar and is a member of the American Bar Association.

    Elizabeth is a director on the Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and is actively involved with the Women's Business Council-Southwest, a non-profit organization certifying and sustaining women-owned businesses.  She is also the president of Texas Women in Numbers, a professional organization for women in the financial services industry, and works with Your Business is Our Business, Basden & Ivie's non-profit that provides educational resources for business.  Follow her on Twitter @elibasden, or view her Linkedin profile at http://www.linkedin.com/in/elizabethbasden.
